Toothpaste: Which One is Right for Your Teeth?

You may know that there are a number of things you’ll need to do if you’d like to protect the health of your teeth. For example, you’ll need to brush twice daily and floss your teeth at least once a day, but did you know the toothpaste you choose can also impact your oral health? Similarly, do you ever wonder which type of toothpaste you should use?

As you’ve probably heard, most toothpastes contain fluoride, which can strengthen the protective outer layer of your teeth known as enamel. Our dentist may also suggest prescription toothpaste with more fluoride in it. However, please don’t give your child toothpaste with fluoride in it because fluoride shouldn’t be swallowed. Fortunately, there are a number of fluoride-free options that come in fun flavors your children will enjoy.

Of course, there are other options designed to help individuals who have sensitive teeth. Fortunately, this type of toothpaste could provide long-lasting relief for your sensitivity. This type of toothpaste can often whiten your teeth as well. Still, you could also choose a toothpaste that just whitens your teeth.
