Dr. Owens grew up in a small town, similar to Pulaski, in central Alabama. He was raised on a dairy farm in Helena, AL. An intercollegiate soccer scholarship led him to Harding University in Searcy, AR. Dr. Owens graduated with honors a semester early from Harding as a biology major with a minor in chemistry and Bible. He continued his education at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, where he received his Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD). Ranked high in his class, he graduated with honors, including the Clinical Excellence in Leadership Award. He was also a member of Omicron Delta Kappa Honors Society.
Dr. Lauren Carter grew up in Brentwood, TN. She comes from a family full of healthcare providers, so she knew at an early age that she loved helping others with a focus on the sciences. She graduated from Middle Tennessee State University with a major in psychology and minors in general science and mental health sciences.
