dr. nathan owens

DMD, FAGD

A survey by the American Dental Association® found a person’s smile outranked eyes, hair and body as the most important physical feature. Dr. Owens’s objective is to give his patients a smile they are proud of.

“We want our patients to feel comfortable the minute they walk in the door. We understand patients don’t care how much you know until they know how much you care. From there we focus on helping our patients feel good about themselves through the way they smile.”

Dr. Owens grew up in a small town, similar to Pulaski, in central Alabama. He was raised on a dairy farm in Helena, AL. An intercollegiate soccer scholarship led him to Harding University in Searcy, AR. Dr. Owens graduated with honors a semester early from Harding as a biology major with a minor in chemistry and Bible. He continued his education at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, where he received his Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD). Ranked high in his class, he graduated with honors, including the Clinical Excellence in Leadership Award. He was also a member of Omicron Delta Kappa Honors Society.

Dr. Owens is a member of the Tennessee Dental Association, American Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry, American Dental Implant Association, American Academy of Facial Esthetics, American Dental Society of Anesthesiology, American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry and the International Association for Orthodontics. He has continued his education in aesthetic dentistry, sedation dentistry, implants, orthodontics and more.

Dr. Owens is dedicated to continually improving his personal and team’s training to better provide care and services for his patients. In 2015, he was awarded with the prestigious award of a Fellowship in the Academy of General Dentistry (FAGD). He has also earned his Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree. Dr. Owens is an international dental speaker, which leads him to teach other dentists the various aspects of dentistry in the United States and Canada.

dr. lauren carter

DDS

Dr. Lauren Carter grew up in Brentwood, Tn. She comes from a family full of healthcare providers, so she knew at an early age that she loved helping others with a focus on sciences. She graduated from Middle Tennessee State University with a major in psychology and minors in general science and mental health sciences.

Dr. Carter then headed to Meharry Medical College School of Dentistry where she earned her Doctorate of Dental Surgery. While in dental school, she served After dental school, she completed an advanced general dentistry program through New York University where she got specialized training in implants, bone grafting, cosmetic dentistry and IV sedation.

Continuing education is very important to Dr. Carter as there is always something new to learn when it comes to dentistry, patient treatment and technology. She is a member of the Tennessee Dental Association, American Association of Implant Dentistry, American Dental Association, and the Academy of General Dentistry.

During Dr. Carter’s free time, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, cooking, traveling, and hanging out with her dog, Remi. She also enjoys volunteering at free dental days with Meharry Medical College, and Remote Area Medical. Dr. Carter enjoys serving the wonderful people of Pulaski and surrounding cities with the Owens Family and Cosmetic Dentistry team.

dr. Kelsey Wright

DDS

Dr. Kelsey Wright was born and raised in Bartlett, TN. At the age of seven, Dr, Wight decided to pursue a career as a dentist. She loves the opportunity dentistry provides to blend artistry and medicine. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in biology and psychology from Union University and received her Doctor of Dental Surgery from the University of Tennessee College of Dentistry. After dental school, Dr. Wright completed the Virginia Tech General Practice Residency, a hospital based advanced general dentistry program. She received advanced training in all areas of general dentistry, treatment of medically compromised patients and patients with special needs, treatment of patients with head and neck cancer, and hospital dentistry. During her time at Carilion Clinic, Dr. Wright had the pleasure of serving on the Cleft & Craniofacial Team treating infants and children of all ages with cleft lip and/ or palate.

She is a member of the American Dental Association®, Tennessee Dental Association, Virginia Dental Association and the Academy of General Dentistry.

During her free time, Dr. Wright has enjoyed volunteering with organizations such as Remote Area Medical and the Midsouth Mission of Mercy which provide free dental care to those without access to traditional dental treatment. She also enjoys baking, crafting and spending time with family and her dog, Shamrock. She is excited to serve the wonderful people of Pulaski as part of the Owens Family & Cosmetic Dentistry team.

dr. bryan shannon

DDS

Dr. Shannon grew up in Alamo, TN where God, Family, and Friday night football are the most important things. At a young age Dr. Bryan Shannon had a dental accident that impacted his smile and confidence for several years. After a wonderful pediatric dental experience, Dr. Shannon decided to pursue a career in dentistry. He has always loved helping others, and dentistry gives him the unique ability to help his patients while also forming a relationship with them. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in biochemistry, cellular, and molecular biology from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville.

Dr. Shannon then headed to Memphis, TN where he received a master’s degree in pharmacology and received his Doctor of Dental Surgery from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center and University of Tennessee College of Dentistry, respectively. He is a member of the Tennessee Dental Association and American Dental Association. Dr. Shannon understands that most people hate coming
to the dentist, and his main goal at every dental visit is making sure the patient has the best experience possible.

“We can do a good job and help the patient achieve great dental health at their appointment, but if people hate coming to see you, then their overall dental health will decline. That is why it is paramount for us as dentists to provide a great experience at each and every appointment.” During his free time, Dr. Shannon enjoys exploring the Giles County area and supporting local businesses. He also enjoys spending time with his family, going to the zoo with his daughter, cheering on the VOLS and Titans, and woodworking. Dr. Shannon looks forward to meeting the people of Pulaski and surrounding areas as he provides you with a great dental experience.
