Nathan Owens, DMD, FAGD

A survey by the American Dental Association® found a person’s smile outranked eyes, hair and body as the most important physical feature. Dr. Owens’s objective is to give his patients a smile they are proud of.

“We want our patients to feel comfortable the minute they walk in the door. We understand patients don’t care how much you know until they know how much you care. From there we focus on helping our patients feel good about themselves through the way they smile.”

Dr. Owens grew up in a small town, similar to Pulaski, in central Alabama. He was raised on a dairy farm in Helena, AL. An intercollegiate soccer scholarship led him to Harding University in Searcy, AR. Dr. Owens graduated with honors a semester early from Harding as a biology major with a minor in chemistry and Bible. He continued his education at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, where he received his Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD). Ranked high in his class, he graduated with honors, including the Clinical Excellence in Leadership Award. He was also a member of Omicron Delta Kappa Honors Society.

Dr. Owens is a member of the Tennessee Dental Association, American Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry, American Dental Implant Association, American Academy of Facial Esthetics, American Dental Society of Anesthesiology, American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry and the International Association for Orthodontics. He has continued his education in aesthetic dentistry, sedation dentistry, implants, orthodontics and more.

Dr. Owens is dedicated to continually improving his personal and team’s training to better provide care and services for his patients. In 2015, he was awarded with the prestigious award of a Fellowship in the Academy of General Dentistry (FAGD). He has also earned his Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree. Dr. Owens is an international dental speaker, which leads him to teach other dentists the various aspects of dentistry in the United States and Canada.


Lauren A. Carter, DDS

Dr. Lauren Carter grew up in Brentwood, Tn. She comes from a family full of healthcare providers, so she knew at an early age that she loved helping others with a focus on sciences. She graduated from Middle Tennessee State University with a major in psychology and minors in general science and mental health sciences.

Dr. Carter then headed to Meharry Medical College School of Dentistry where she earned her Doctorate of Dental Surgery. While in dental school, she served After dental school, she completed an advanced general dentistry program through New York University where she got specialized training in implants, bone grafting, cosmetic dentistry and IV sedation.

Continuing education is very important to Dr. Carter as there is always something new to learn when it comes to dentistry, patient treatment and technology. She is a member of the Tennessee Dental Association, American Association of Implant Dentistry, American Dental Association, and the Academy of General Dentistry.

During Dr. Carter’s free time, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, cooking, traveling, and hanging out with her dog, Remi. She also enjoys volunteering at free dental days with Meharry Medical College, and Remote Area Medical. Dr. Carter enjoys serving the wonderful people of Pulaski and surrounding cities with the Owens Family and Cosmetic Dentistry team.


Kelsey Wright, DDS

Dr. Kelsey Wright was born and raised in Bartlett, TN. At the age of seven, Dr, Wight decided to pursue a career as a dentist. She loves the opportunity dentistry provides to blend artistry and medicine. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in biology and psychology from Union University and received her Doctor of Dental Surgery from the University of Tennessee College of Dentistry. After dental school, Dr. Wright completed the Virginia Tech General Practice Residency, a hospital based advanced general dentistry program. She received advanced training in all areas of general dentistry, treatment of medically compromised patients and patients with special needs, treatment of patients with head and neck cancer, and hospital dentistry. During her time at Carilion Clinic, Dr. Wright had the pleasure of serving on the Cleft & Craniofacial Team treating infants and children of all ages with cleft lip and/ or palate.

She is a member of the American Dental Association®, Tennessee Dental Association, Virginia Dental Association and the Academy of General Dentistry.

During her free time, Dr. Wright has enjoyed volunteering with organizations such as Remote Area Medical and the Midsouth Mission of Mercy which provide free dental care to those without access to traditional dental treatment. She also enjoys baking, crafting and spending time with family and her dog, Shamrock. She is excited to serve the wonderful people of Pulaski as part of the Owens Family & Cosmetic Dentistry team.

Kim W. – Office Manager

Kim has been in the dental field since 1995, becoming a Registered Dental Assistant and certified in nitrous oxide monitoring in 1999. She attended the Dental Assisting Program at Nashville State. Kim has worked in this office since 2000. She and her husband, Andy, were married in 2000 and have two sons, Conner and Cameron, daughter-in-law Julie and granddaughter Charlotte James. Her extended family includes her Weimaraner, Charlie and leopard gecko, Spot.

Kim is an active member of Lindsay Lane Baptist Church and is passionate about recycling at home and at the office. She enjoys spending time out of the office working on projects at home, watching movies, getting together with friends and family, fishing, boating and relaxing fire side.


Jennifer H. – Scheduling Coordinator

Jennifer was raised in the heart of the coal mining industry in West Virginia and moved to Pulaski in 2004. She graduated from Tennessee Technology Center-Pulaski in dental assisting. She has four wonderful children, Brenna, Emma, Ella and Gabriel. Jennifer enjoys spending time with her family and friends, painting, crafting and traveling.


Gwen M. – Front Office Manager/Scheduling Coordinator

Gwen started working in the office in 2006. She is cross-trained and part of the front office team. Gwen married Jeremy in 2002. They have two daughters, Khloe and Mia. Gwen spends her time out of the office hunting, enjoying time with family and friends, and riding ATVs.


Sarah S. – Insurance Coordinator

Sarah, daughter of retired dentist Dr. James Kenneth Webb, was involved in her father’s practice for most of her life. She worked in the office's administration 12 years, joining Owens Dentistry in 2008.

After graduating from GCHS in 1991, she attended MMC in Pulaski. Sarah went on to earn her BS/BA in Sociology/Criminal Justice from TTU in Cookeville. She is a member of First Baptist Church, Pulaski and spends her spare time with her husband Scott, son Webb and their feisty cat Prancer.

She likes to hang out in her PJs as long as she can when she’s not at work and IF you happen to catch her out on the weekend she’ll be in her favorite ball cap.


Travonya – Clinical and Treatment Coordinator

Travonya is a native of Pulaski and 1999 graduate of GCHS. She began her dental career as a Registered Dental Assistant in 2004 when she completed her training at Tennessee Technology Center of Pulaski. In 2011 she received Expanded Functions Credentials from University of Tennessee Memphis.

Travonya is passionate about providing excellent patient care and making sure each patient has a personable and enjoyable dental visit. She is a member of Temple of Praise Church and enjoys traveling, family gatherings and spending time with her husband Tory and their precious daughter, Zion.


Kimmy B. – Front Office Manager

Kimmy started working in the office April 2016 as part of the front office team. She is our Front Office Manager. She was born in Orlando, Florida and moved here around the age of three. Kimmy has two kids, Kayden and AnnaKate. She enjoys going to the gym, shopping, and all the girly things in life. She especially enjoys time spent with her family and being outdoors.


Kimmy H. – Account Specialist

Kimmy joined our office in June 2018. She is a native of Giles County. She graduated TCAT Pulaski in August 2017 with a diploma as an accounting assistant. Kimmy married Cameron Hood in January 2019. She has two boys, Landon and Carson; she also has 4 stepchildren, Hannah, Brenna, Sam and Ashton. She enjoys spending time and going on adventures with her family and friends.


Blaise R. – Marketing Coordinator

Blaise joined our team in January of 2018. She is our marketing coordinator. She is a native of Pulaski, Tennessee, and is married to Chaz R. Blaise is a 2011 graduate of Giles County High School. She attended Martin Methodist College in Pulaski where she was a member of the volleyball team and received her bachelor’s degree in business management.

Blaise and her husband are proud dog parents of Chaos, Bruiser and Ellie. Blaise enjoys the outdoors, rearranging her house and spending time with friends and family.


Emily G. – Treatment Plan Coordinator

Emily was born and raised in Columbus, Ohio before moving to Naples, Florida in 2012 at the age of 21. In Naples, she was managing 4 home and women’s fashion boutiques. Emily also met now husband, Jeff in Naples whom she married in April 2018 after her move to Tennessee in 2017. She joined the Owens Dental team in June 2018 after gaining 2 years of dental experience at an office in Columbia.

Emily enjoys spending her time outside with her husband on their mini farm, hunting, fishing, and riding ATVs. She also spends a lot of time in her butterfly garden and doing arts and crafts. She and Jeff are enjoying their new married life and slowing down to enjoy God’s country.


Kayla R. - New Patient Coordinator

Kayla joined our team in January of 2020. She was born & raised in Pulaski. She graduated from Martin Methodist College in 2014 with a Bachelors Degree in Biology. She has one son, Chayce and is expecting another child in March 2021. She is a member of Temple of Praise Church. In her free time she likes to travel and spend time with her family & friends.



Lydia B. – Registered Dental Hygienist

Lydia has been working in the office as a Dental Hygienist since June 1995. She graduated from Giles County High School in 1992 and earned her RDH from Tennessee State University in 1995. Lydia is the daughter of Linda and the late Ray Holt. She has been married to Tim for 24 years, and they have two children, Lexi (20) and Lindsey (18). Lexi is Junior at UNA and Lindsey is a Freshman at Columbia State Community College. Lydia enjoys spending time with family and friends.


Amy S. – Registered Dental Hygienist

Amy has been a dental hygienist in the office since September 1998. She attended Martin College and received her bachelor of science in Dental Hygiene from the University of Tennessee Center for Health Sciences in December 1977. Amy has two children, Rae (husband, Eric) and Blake (wife, Cassie). Amy and her husband, Dwight, have seven grandchildren and attend Howell Hill Church of Christ. Amy enjoys working in her yard and spending time with her family.


Jane C. – Registered Dental Hygienist

Jane joined Dr. Owens in November of 2017. She graduated from Martin Methodist College in 1976. She graduated from University of Tennessee Center for Health Sciences Memphis in December 1977 with a Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene. She is married to Mike Currin. They have three children, Tyler, Trey and wife Amanda, and Kaycee; two grandchildren, Makenna age 8 and Annalise age 7 months.



Alesis – Schedule Flow Coordinator, Registered Dental Assistant

Alesis is a native of Pulaski and a 2015 graduate of Giles County High School. She earned her Associate of Arts from Martin Methodist College in the spring of 2017. She completed her dental assisting training from Tennessee College of Applied Technology in the spring of 2018. She has been a part of the Owens Family & Cosmetic Dentistry team since December 2017. She enjoys spending time with her dogs and husband as well as being outside on her grandparents’ farm.


Brittany B. – Registered Dental Assistant

Brittany is a Registered Dental Assistant and is certified in Radiology, Coronal Polishing, and Nitrous Oxide Monitoring. She has been in the dental field for 6 years. She was born in Clarksville, Tennessee and moved here in 2019. Brittany has a 10 year old daughter, Adyson and is expecting baby Harrison in October 2020. In her spare time, she likes anything adventurous and outdoors.


McKayla H. – Registered Dental Assistant

McKayla is a registered dental assistant that joined our team in August of 2019. She completed her dental training in December of 2018 from Pulaski TCAT. She enjoys spending time with family and friends. She also enjoys riding horses and going to the river.


Courtney W. – Registered Dental Assistant

Courtney is a native of Lawrenceburg. She is married to Chase Wix. They have two kids together, Tatum (5) and Kayson (2). She is a graduate from TCAT Pulaski. She is a registered dental assistant with certification in Radiology and Monitoring Nitrous Oxide. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her family.


Casey G. – Registered Dental Assistant

Casey was born and raised in Wayne County, TN and a graduate of the 2016 Class of Frank Hughes High School. She is an RDA with a certificate in radiology who graduated from the 2020 Class of TCAT in Pulaski. She recently moved to Lincoln County, TN with her fiancé, Andrew and has been apart of our Owens Dental family since March 2020. They are planning their wedding for May 2021! She enjoys making other people smile and spending time with family and friends. Being home and spending quality family time is important to her, so she tries to spend as much time with them as she can.


Lacey H. – Registered Dental Assistant

Ever since I was little, I have always enjoyed going to the dentist, I originally wanted to be in pediatrics, but fell in love with general dentistry. In my spare time I love to lay in my hammock and read, go hiking, or practice my violin. A fun fact about me, is that I love anything that has to do with the Titanic and I have played the violin since I was seven years old. I have one younger brother, Lee, and a cat named Anastasia.
